Bizarre images out of Indonesia show villagers displaying and subsequently eating a 25-foot python that injured a local security guard.
Locals say that the giant python met its demise on Saturday after threatening the security guard, who nearly had his arm severed by the snake. In turn, the villagers captured the snake, displayed it and decided to feast on it, Fox News reports.
For context, reports from the Chicago Tribune suggest that guard Robert Nababan was making his way home on Sept. 30 when he spotted the massive reptile in the road in Batang Gansal, a district of Sumatra. He reportedly tried to move it.

Yet another report, from Sky News, indicates that Nababan was trying to capture the snake on an oil palm tree estate and put it in a sack.
Regardless, the snake wasn’t having any of that. Attacking Nababan, the serpent nearly tore off the guard’s left arm.
But villagers and another guard stepped in and killed the snake.
Nababan was hospitalized with critical injuries.
