A man was arrested and charged with fatally shooting Rihanna’s cousin in Barbados last week, according to local reports.


Shawayne Dashawn Williams was charged with murdering Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on Dec. 26, during his first court appearance on Wednesday, according to Nation News.


The 23-year-old was remanded to prison ahead of his next court appearance on Jan. 31.



Alleyne was reportedly walking near his home on Tuesday when a man shot him several times before fleeing the scene.


He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died, according to Nation News.


The pop star paid tribute to her 21-year-old cousin on Instagram, writing, “RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!”
