Actress Danielle Savre didn’t have to go far from home to research her role as a firefighter in Shonda Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff, which is yet to be named. Her sister Stephanie Savre is part of the Los Angeles Fire Department’s hook and ladder team.
“It’s an honor in itself getting the opportunity to play a real life superhero,” the actress said at the ABC Networks Cast Reveal in Pasadena, Calif., where it was announced her new show would premiere on March 22 in the slot formerly occupied by “Scandal.” “The gift to portray my own and only sister set the bar even higher.”
Savre, who starred in TLC’s “Too Close to Home,” didn’t think twice about calling her sister when she needed help with her character, whose name is Maya Bishop.
