Donald Trump Jr. is after one of Hollywood’s most cherished stars.
The son of the President tweeted a response to a recent interview with Meryl Streep in which she said she didn’t want to hear people calling her out for being silent — and instead called out Melania and Ivanka Trump over their silence about men who are accused of sexual assault, though not specifically referencing President Trump.
Donald Trump Jr. fired back at the Oscar-winner, writing: “Amazing that the only person in all of Hollywood who didn’t know Weinstein was a serial assaulter (of course she did) has an opinion on this.”
His Twitter outburst came on the heels of Streep’s interview with the New York Times in which she once again didn’t directly address the mounting allegations of rape and sexual assault against Weinstein, who she worked with closely over the years.

What really angered Don Jr., however, were her quotes about his family. President Trump has also been accused of sexual harassment by at least a dozen women since The Washington Post made public an “Access Hollywood” tape from 2005 where he discussed grabbing women by the “p—y.”
“I don’t want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump. I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now,” Streep said.
The “Sophie’s Choice” star referred to Weinstein, who she worked with on a number of films, as God in her Academy Award speech for “The Iron Lady.”
She maintained in the piece that she “really didn’t know” about Weinstein’s behavior.

“When I heard the rumors about actresses, I thought that was a way of denigrating the actress and her ability to get the job. That really raised my hackles,” she said. “I didn’t know that he was in any way abusing people. He never asked me to a hotel room.”
Streep was adamant she was clueless to the whole thing and shouldn’t be required to respond.

Though many people disagree.
Her face is now plastered on posters throughout Los Angeles that read “SheKnew.”
Meryl Streep can’t stop saying the wrong things about Weinstein
“I found out about this on a Friday and went home deep into my own life. And then somebody told me that on ‘Morning Joe’ they were screaming that I haven’t responded yet,” she recalled to The Times.
“I don’t have a Twitter thing or — handle, whatever. And I don’t have Facebook. I really had to think. Because it really underlined my own sense of cluelessness, and how evil, deeply evil, and duplicitous, a person he was, yet such a champion of really great work.”
