Katie Cassidy will never let her father’s final words waste away.
That was the sentiment of a heartfelt tweet the “Arrow” actress posted Friday afternoon, reflecting on the life and legacy of her legendary father, David Cassidy, who passed away at the age of 67 earlier this week.
“My father’s last words were ‘So much wasted time,'” she tweeted. “This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute…thank you.”
David Cassidy, the star actor of ’70s sitcom “The Partridge Family,” died on Tuesday of complications from dementia and multiple organ failures.
David Cassidy will reportedly be cremated
His 30-year-old daughter expressed gratitude for the recent outpouring of support.
“Words can’t express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time,” her tweet continued.
Cassidy played a very limited role in his daughter’s childhood and she was mainly raised by her mother and stepfather.
Her relationship with her father soured towards the end and David Cassidy confessed in February that the two weren’t talking.
“I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “(But) I’m proud of her. She’s very talented. It’s hard for me to even accept how old she is now.”
After his death, Cassidy’s family members were united in mourning.
“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long,” they said in a statement to the Daily News.
