Disney’s Olaf rises higher than a five-story brownstone

Olaf, the irresistible carrot-nosed, helium-happy “Frozen” snowman inflatable, measures 60 feet from head to toe. That’s just over five and a half stories and big enough to make hug-happy Olaf the tallest of this year’s 17 ginormous balloons.

The new Jett inflatable from the cartoon “Super Wings” is the widest at 39 feet, and returning favorite Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger is the longest at 77 feet.

By the way, each giant balloon requires around 90 tether-holding handlers to string them along.

Broadway performances go off-script

The casts of “Anastasia,” “Once on this Island,” “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Dear Evan Hansen” will perform on Thursday.

And they’ll all be ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at them — sun, rain, cold, pigeons. Ask “Anastasia” star John Bolton, who’s been in the parade four previous times. His sweetest memory is from 1997, when he and his “Titanic” castmates sang the show’s opening number.

“We hit the big majestic final chord and a huge flock of birds rose up out of Herald Square into beams of cold morning sunlight as if it had been staged,” he tells the Daily News. “It was magical.” Unfortunately, those watching at home didn’t see it since it wasn’t caught on camera.

With 3.5 million spectators lining the parade route from W. 77th St. to 34th St. and an estimated 50 million tuning in on TV, you want to make sure everything goes off — and up — as planned.

The parade is a 2.5-mile-long clown car

If you’re keeping track of the clowns you see along the parade route, good luck. There are 1,000 of them, which gives clowning around new meaning. On the other hand, this is not the event for coulrophobics.
